Letter from Asia: Dreaming of a Green Christmas

General Manager Tom Balchas reports on holiday preparations for Lawry’s The Prime Rib in Jakarta, Singapore, Taipei and Tokyo.

Happy holidays from the co-workers at Lawry's The Prime Rib, Taipei! Happy holidays from the co-workers at Lawry's The Prime Rib, Taipei!

We are happy and relieved that the SARS epidemic that plagued Asia early this year has been vanquished. Business travel and toursim have all rebounded to previous levels. Now, as the winter chill hits the States, this is the ideal time to visit Asia. Our balmy temperatures await you!

Lawry’s in Jakarta, Singapore, Taipei and Tokyo will celebrate Thanksgiving with turkey and all the traditional “trimmings,” turkey and prime rib combination dinners, and for that feast at home, whole birds to go. The same will be available for Christmas when our restaurants will be decorated with beautifully trimmed trees and red-and-gold festooned wreaths.

If safety is a concern, we want to reassure you that Lawry’s locations within premiere shopping centers provide us with great security, along with the bonus of having Gucci and Prada just a few meters from our front doors!

If your travels bring you across the International Date Line this holiday season, drop in and visit us for great food, Christmas carols, and the feeling of being home again.

On behalf of all the co-workers of Lawry’s Asia, we wish you the best of the holiday season, and a spectacular New Year 2004!
