The fact that he does it all with an air of serenity and a touch of humor speaks to his love for cooking and his delight in meeting challenges. As Dennis says, “For me, the creativity is the best part of what I do. I love to cook new things, either a cuisine that I’m unfamiliar with or a different technique for a familiar ingredient.”
Dennis’s talents have earned the restaurant scores of culinary awards and distinguished it as one of the finest in America.

He has just been named 2009-2010 “Chef of the Year” by the Southern California Restaurant Writers, chosen by the prestigious organization as the best among chefs at restaurants stretching from Santa Barbara to the Mexican border.
We don’t know how he finds the time to do it, but Dennis is also very active in charities, lending his cooking wizardry to benefit Share Our Strength, The Blind Children’s Learning Center, the Junior League of Orange County, the American Cancer Society, Friends of Orange County Interfaith Shelter and local events supporting the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce.
