Journalist Rick Kogan and photographer Charles Osgood, whose Chicago Tribune Sunday Magazine column “Sidewalks” is a beloved local institution. signed their latest book, Sidewalks: Portraits of Chicago … and Alpana Singh, master sommelier and host of WTTW-TV’s Emmy Award-winning “Check, Please,” signed her new book, Alpana Pours: About Being A Woman, Loving Wine and Having Great Relationships. Alpana was accompanied by her husband, novelist Charles Blackstone.
Our Chicago restaurant also welcomed the city’s First Lady, Maggie Daley, who had lunch with friends in the Ale & Sandwich Bar … society maven Janie Dicks and her family … Food Network’s Paula Deen, who dines with us whenever she’s in town … Chicago Blackhawks’ TV analyst Eddie “Eddie O” Olczyk and his wife, Diana … the winningest coach in NHL history Scotty Bowman, and his family … Sun-Times sports columnist Jay Mariotti ... and Baseball hall of Famer Fergie Jenkins.
When TV-movie star Chuck Norris joined us for dinner in Dallas, he took the opportunity to become a Lawry’s VIP Rewards member. Also spotted in our Dallas restaurant: Pro Football Hall of Fame member and former Dallas Cowboy Tony Dorsett, enjoying dinner with his wife and children.
