Time After Time

Joe and Joyce Teague know where they’ll be having dinner on June 28, 2018­—and they know what their meal will be. How come? Because for 63 years, the Teagues have celebrated their Anniversary at Lawry’s The Prime Rib in Beverly Hills with our Spinning Bowl Salad, Lawry’s Cut Prime Rib, Yorkshire pudding mashed potatoes and creamed spinach.

In 1954, Joe wanted to take his young bride somewhere extra special to mark their first year together. He had not forgotten the evening he spent with all his plumbing company’s employees at the famous Beverly Hills restaurant two years earlier. For him, Lawry’s was the obvious choice for a night to remember.

The couple enjoyed it so much they returned the next year on the same day and established a tradition they’ve maintained ever since. Moving from Lynwood in Los Angeles county to Moreno Valley near Riverside in 1963 hasn’t kept them from making the 154 mile round trip to La Cienega Blvd. not only on their Anniversary, but also to share meals with family and friends during the year.

When asked what keeps them returning, the Teague’s are quick to express their appreciation for the service they receive. Joe describes their feeling as a “continuous love affair with Lawry’s” and then laughs as he explains, “I go there just for the spinach!”

Joyce confides that they always ask for a doggie bag so they can bring home a prime rib bone to the German Shepherds they have had over the years. We know what their pet will be having for dinner next June 29th!
