Fifth-generation family member, Miles Hannay shares his great-grandfather Richard N. Frank's affinity for prime rib.
BOARD OF TRUSTEES CHAIRMAN EMERITUS Richard N. Frank was especially happy to welcome the Stanford Cardinal to the 2013 Lawry’s Beef Bowl last December. Although he tries not to play favorites, he confessed he was pulling for his alma mater’s football team to clinch a second consecutive Rose Bowl victory.
But there was someone else at Lawry’s The Prime Rib, Beverly Hills that night whose presence made him even happier: his great-grandson, 3-year-old Miles Hannay, visiting from his home in Oakland. This was his first Beef Bowl where he astonished the family by polishing off an entire California Cut of Prime Rib!
Mr. Frank was understandably proud to pose with Miles. “When I started the Beef Bowl in 1956, I never imagined I’d be sharing it with a great-grandson,” he said. “Miles is a sharp kid. Maybe he’ll be one of the fifth generation of our family to work in the business,” he added with a wink.
