Our Very Own Hall of Famer

Lawry’s senior vice president, David E. Stockman, recently received one of the highest honors in the restaurant industry when he was inducted into the California Restaurant Association’s Hall of Fame. Before he began his career in restaurants, David was on his way to being an athletic coach. But fate (and the need to support his young family) brought him into our business.

Once he discovered he could use his coaching skills to teach restaurant staffs how to treat guests with the highest level of hospitality, David never looked back.

In his 29 years with Lawry’s, he has “coached” most of the Lawry’s The Prime Rib staffs in the United States. Today, he oversees Lawry’s Carvery, the Five Crowns, and Tam O’Shanter Inn restaurants, as well as all of the Lawry’s The Prime Rib international locations.

The Hall of Fame honor recognizes the excellence David has shown in his work at Lawry’s, along with his dedication and commitment to students and to food service educational programs in our industry.

For much of his career, David has volunteered his time and talents as a leader of the California Restaurant Association, the largest state association of restaurateurs in the country, serving as the CRA’s 1998-99 chairman of the board, as 2002 chairman of its Educational Foundation, and as the incoming chairman of the board of DiRoNA (Distinguished Restaurants of North America).

It seems fitting that our coach has made it into the Hall of Fame. We are proud to share the happy news with you and equally proud to be working alongside of David.
